Pakitsilp Varamissara has had a 30 year career in the art world, having first trained in the discipline af traditional Thai painting. He believes that his work transcends the boundaries of traditional and modern art, creating a simplicity that verges on abstraction.
The artist's current style emanates from a trip to France, where he became influenced by the Masters. Although his work shows clear influences of the style of Lanna, vibrant colours have now been incorporated into his work. This more simplified approach has led to results that are almost dreamlike .
Organised by the hotel, in conjunction with the Toot Yung Gallery, and curated by Myrtille Tibayrenc, "Work In Situ" can be viewed from now until March 31st 2012.
