Work In Situ @ Pullman Bangkok King Power25.02.2012
Chiang Mai born artist Pakitsilp Varamissara is currently holding an exhibition of his art, "Work In Situ" in the lobby of Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel. The display, which features giant canvasses suspended from the ceiling, is being held as part of French cultural festival La Fete 2012.
Words and photos by Paul Hutton, Bangkok Scene.
The artist's current style emanates from a trip to France, where he became influenced by the Masters. Although his work shows clear influences of the style of Lanna, vibrant colours have now been incorporated into his work. This more simplified approach has led to results that are almost dreamlike . Organised by the hotel, in conjunction with the Toot Yung Gallery, and curated by Myrtille Tibayrenc, "Work In Situ" can be viewed from now until March 31st 2012. |
