The Music Run Rocks Bangkok

Music volumes soared with the afternoon heat in Bangkok as over 10,000 participants walked, ran and danced for a five kilometre fun run to their favourite beats at The Music Run by AIA at Suan Luang Rama IX Park.

The five kilometre run encourages participants to enjoy running while immersed in music tracks voted for by the Music Runners themselves. Music Runners selected their favourite tracks across five genres: Rock, Pop, Dance, R&B and Hip Hop.

“The Music Run by AIA is all about freeing runners to express themselves as a community, putting aside their earphones to celebrate a common passion for music and running.  We are thrilled at the response in Bangkok and we certainly hope to bring this platform back to Bangkok next year,” enthused Martin Capstick, founder of event organiser Exceed Sports & Entertainment.

“We hope The Music Run by AIA can be an inspiration for people from all walks of life to live healthier lives.  There is no time clock, no training, no pressure; just healthy, wholesome fun with like-minded individuals who are passionate about music and running,” he added.

The electrifying atmosphere began with MET 107 DJs building the excitement on stage as early as 2:00 pm while Music Runners filled the Start Zone for opening act GETSUNOVA at 3:00 pm.  At 4:00 pm, CEO of AIA Thailand Saloon Tham flagged and signalled the first wave of runners, and the CMO of AIA, Sang Lee, led the first wave of runners to hit the pavements, sending an energetic crowd of Music Runners on their way through Music Zone 1 – Rock Zone, while Khun Bhurit Bhirombhakdi, Director of Singha Corporation, Ltd. led the third wave.

Among the Music Runners were many familiar faces such as Woody Milintachinda, a famous TV host and well-known TV owner of Woody Talk program, members of hit band GETSUNOVA, Gybsy Girly Berry, Grace Klanklao and Aerin Yuktadatta.

The lively atmosphere was not confined to the running track alone, as Music Runners were treated to a plethora of interactive games and activities at each of the music zones.

After completing the run, the party continued at the Finish Zone where Music Runners rehydrated themselves with a fist-pumping party where DJ ONO and DJ Buddah from Bangkok Invaders played tunes on stage.  Even after the five kilometre workout, Music Runners were still pumped up and enjoying themselves at the event with fun activities, goodies and surprises from the sponsors.
