Jazz lovers have been treated to a feast of laid back melodies at The Vie Hotel recently, and plans are afoot to extend the sessions for upcoming months. Some of Thailand’s top musical talent have been performing at the inner city venue, and more are on the way.
Koh Mr. Saxman will continue his Wednesday and Thursday night performances throughout October, along with Lookwah, from Doo ba Doo, Fon from Monotone, Jazzy Frank, K.O.M and Lookpad Chonlanan.

The RA Trio featuring Fangkao will be in residence every Monday and Tuesday night, while Hank the Groove will provide a funkier feel to Fridays and Saturdays. Special performances by Pom Autobahn, Yellowtail and The Shabushi Band have also been pencilled in.
Talented saxophonist Koh is widely regarded as Thailand’s top jazz musician, and he has performed regularly in the UK with his band for the last four years, sometimes travelling two or three times per year. He has racked up six solo albums to date, and his seventh, “The Visitor”, will soon be available.
Koh said “We aim to provide a friendly, laid back, living room experience, and would love any jazz enthusiasts to come along with their instruments and jam along with us.”
Guests can relax on comfortable sofa seating and let the grooves wash over them as they sip signature cocktails by resident mixologist Khun You. His three signature concoctions are Tea Tina, Vie Bailey’s and Peppermint Senses.
Tea Tina features vodka, peach tea and a squeeze of lime. Vie Bailey’s consists of Bailey’s, Kahlua, Crème de Cacao, fresh milk and cinnamon powder, while Peppermint Senses is made with vodka, peppermint cream, Midori, pineapple juice and basil leaves.
The contemporary five star VIE Hotel is easily reached by BTS Skytrain, and sits just metres from the Ratchatewi station.
