Thai artist Pongsakul Chalao at S Gallery
When Thai artist Pongsakul Chalao is not busy producing artwork, he can normally be found strumming his acoustic guitar. His love of performing solo has led to him becoming affectionately known as Bas Dylan.
In keeping with this musical background Bas developed a love of blue jeans, and began a collection around 10 years ago.
This has led to his latest art exhibition, Tangled Up In Blue, in which the artist has created rural and city landscape images of Bangkok and its surroundings using nothing but cut and torn pieces of his blue jean collection.
He explains, "As the son of a tailor I became absorbed in the art of making fabric. I collage my life experiences and surroundings on my work, and I see simplicity in complexity."
You can catch the exhibition at S Galley at Sofitel Sukhumvit until June 6th.
