The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, has announced the launch of “Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair Bangkok 2015” by unveiling the latest concept and theme. The fair is scheduled to be held from 11-15 March 2015 at Challenger Hall 1-2, IMPACT Exhibition Centre, Muang Thong Thani.

The press conference for the launch of the 33rd BIFF&BIL was held at Grand Atelier, Le Méridien Bangkok Hotel.  Selected products exhibited at the press conference were amongst those from BIFF&BIL 2015’s 527 exhibitors in 831 lots.

Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, said "On behalf of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, I am honoured to open the press conference for the launch of the 33rd Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2015 or BIFF&BIL 2015.  This Fair is a collaboration between the Department and 15 Trade Associations of Thailand’s fashion and leather industry. The objective of this Fair is to provide market and trade opportunities for the textile and leather industry.  Moreover, the Fair also serves as a preparation for Thai business owners for the upcoming ASEAN Economics Community at the end of 2015.

BIFF&BIL 2015 is organised under the new concept called “Catching The Creative Spirit” with a strong and clear focus on creativity in the fashion and leather industry for Thailand and International business.  BIFF&BIL 2015 received a collaboration from Carlin International Institute, a leading international institution from France, making this event a true fashion and leather platform.  The Fair aims to promote growth for business operators in both marketing and investment aspects at national and international levels and enhances cooperation between the all elements of the industry together such as enterprise, production and designers.  There is an effort to promote BIFF&BIL as a hub or centre for products from the fashion and leather industry, which are full of creatvity and design, encompassing the full cycle from production until the products reach the hands of consumers in both domestic and international markets.

The Department continually extends an invitation to new exhibitors, who have interesting products, to join the Fair.  And due to pro-active PR scheme of BIFF&BIL, there has always been significant increase of visitors and exhibitors.  This year there is a total of 527 exhibitors in 831 lots, a 17.5 % increase from last year, with international exhibitors from more than 10 countries such as ASEAN countries, China, Japan, India and Bangladesh.  Thailand is the centre of the fashion and leather industry; in 2014, Thailand’s export value of the product in this sector was worth 7.4 billion USD (239 Billion THB).

BIFF&BIL 2015 also offers other special activities such as: an ECO Fashion Exhibition, products for the elderly, Trend Forums, One Stop Supply Chain Integration, a Designer’s Room Exhibition and fashion shows from Thai and International Designers (with expected viewers of 30,000 people and purchase value of no less than 2 billion THB."
