Catching the Creative Spirit: BIFF&BIL 201503.03.2015
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, has announced the launch of “Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair Bangkok 2015” by unveiling the latest concept and theme. The fair is scheduled to be held from 11-15 March 2015 at Challenger Hall 1-2, IMPACT Exhibition Centre, Muang Thong Thani.
Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, said "On behalf of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, I am honoured to open the press conference for the launch of the 33rd Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2015 or BIFF&BIL 2015. This Fair is a collaboration between the Department and 15 Trade Associations of Thailand’s fashion and leather industry. The objective of this Fair is to provide market and trade opportunities for the textile and leather industry. Moreover, the Fair also serves as a preparation for Thai business owners for the upcoming ASEAN Economics Community at the end of 2015.
The Department continually extends an invitation to new exhibitors, who have interesting products, to join the Fair. And due to pro-active PR scheme of BIFF&BIL, there has always been significant increase of visitors and exhibitors. This year there is a total of 527 exhibitors in 831 lots, a 17.5 % increase from last year, with international exhibitors from more than 10 countries such as ASEAN countries, China, Japan, India and Bangladesh. Thailand is the centre of the fashion and leather industry; in 2014, Thailand’s export value of the product in this sector was worth 7.4 billion USD (239 Billion THB).
