Bangkok's Continent Hotel: Travel the World in One Continent

When designs were being drawn up for Bangkok’s stylish new Continent Hotel, a great deal of thought went into the overall theme of the building, with world travel deemed the ideal subject matter.

The hotel therefore has a different nation represented on each of the 25 residential floors, with giant photographs of the chosen country decorating the corridors.

Latitude and longitude lines are prevalent throughout the the hotel, as are decorative travel items such ascompasses, guide books, lanterns, sextants and globes.

There are 153 guest rooms in total, all of which are designed  using four different themes: Ocean, Forest, Desert and Space.

Most of the food and beverage outlets are on the upper floors and give great views of the surrounding Asoke/Sukhumvit area.

Medinii Italian Restaurant sits on the 37th floor of the five star hotel, with a menu consisting of fine Italian cuisine with a hint of Asian flavour.

The infinity swimming pool is a perfect spot for topping up the tan in perfect tranquility; the bustling city below could be a mile away.  The pool deck features the H2O Pool Lounge with chilled cocktails, grass, cool music and a swim up bar.

At the Compass Lobby Bar and Lounge, above,  guests can sit back, relax and enjoy a comfortable meeting environment. Whether returning from a day's adventure or about to set out on one, there are fine coffees and hot teas to sample while mapping out the day's journey with one of the experienced staff.

Alternatively, guests can drop in for an afternoon's refreshing drink and read from a variety of books and magazines while relaxing in one of the oversized leather armchairs.

Located on the ground floor, Compass provides a relaxing lounge environment for guests and walk-in customers.

Even the private bath tubs (below) that sit in each bathroom have great views of the city.
