Circus of the Angels Checks In

The well established airline celebrated in high fashion with a party that was dubbed the “Circus of the Angels”.

Leading models took to the stage wearing ornate gowns featuring angel wings.

The entire stage took on the atmosphere of a circus with jugglers jostling for space alongside acrobats.

A musicfest then took over with Kathreeya English performing a high energy set, followed by Billy Ogan and Burin Boonvisut.

A mini concert by Ben Chalatit topped the bill, with airline staff then taking to the stage in scenes of impromptu revelry.

Minor Corporation Plc, the importer and distributor of shoes and accessories brand Charles & Keith, introduced its Spring 2013 collection under the theme “The Lost Shoes Diary”. The launch took place at the trendy new W Hotel in Sathorn, with a special performance by sexy stars Yayaying­ Ratha Poh­ngam and Opal ­Panisara Pimpru, who performed side by side in suitably dramatic style on the runway.

Kwankao’s Homage to Yesteryear

Young Thai designer Kwankao Svetavimala has been watching movies recently. Well, one movie in particular has recaptured her imagination, and it has inspired her latest Spring/Summer 2013 collection.  For Kwankao has always been inspired by the movie Flashdance, starring Jennifer Beals.  It is a story that strikes a chord with her, and it has now inspired her to recreate the look synonymous with Jennifer Beals, the actress who played Alex Owens, the factory worker by day turned energetic dancer by night.  “We are allowing you to dip into the bright explosion of candy colours that were around in the early 80’s” she says, “and I have used the title track from the movie for the title of my collection: What A Feeling!”

Terrace@72 at the Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside Hotel has introduced a new layout, with new food choices.  Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Western dishes are all available through the week, buffet style, with the Sunday brunch now featuring activities for kids. 

Aimed at families, the new Sunday brunch features balloon making and a range of arts and crafts.  An international seafood buffet is also available on Friday and Saturday nights.

“And God Created Woman”

Brigitte Bardot, la legende, by Henry-Jean Servat

Never before seen images of screen goddess Brigitte Bardot were recently on show at Sofitel Bangkok’s chic rooftop venue: L’Appart.

The 30 photos took pride of place in the upscale wining and dining venue before moving on to the Sofitel Saigon Plaza. 

The exhibition is by Henry-Jean Servat, a French journalist who has published over 35 works on cinema and history.

BB Forever toured across China, visiting four Sofitel properties, and also exhibited in Manila and Mumbai.

First Homme Edition Unveiled

French fashion magazine Numero held a Numero Lady Auction Ensemble at Zense at Central World in Bangkok.

The evening also served to debut the men’s edition of the magazine, whose Thai version was launched in 2012.   

Fashion lovers were given the opportunity to bid for unique designs provided for the evening by leading fashion houses such as Kloset, Disaya, Stretsis, Senada, Theatre, Vivkteerut, Soda, Greyhound, Asava, Real, Issue, Curated and Chai Gold Label.
